I'm illuminated by the intimate aesthetic moments we exchange in life. I’m interested in how we perceive these moments in present and memory. How they inherently inform, change, and sometimes solidify our perceptions of self and place?... Adhering to a personal cosmology based in the ideas of existential metaphysics : time memory perception, mixed with esoteric and romantic notions, I attempt to capture, distill, and reflect these moments into simple subtle poetic gestures.
Jesus Landin-Torrez III is a multidimensional composer exploring ideas of ritualistic practice, memory, death, and the sublime. Landin-Torrez is interested in how these ideas relate to commonality and place. He utilizes visual and literary craft in concert with an intuitive creative process to create a catalyst for intimate co-authored experiences. Through an abstract telling of narrative and use of metaphor he reinterprets these experiences and gestures into forms of sound and film installations, interactive performance, experimental compositions, and musical scores, resulting in artifacts, ephemera, and publications.
Landin-Torrez III is a nomadic artist based out of Alaska and California.
